Halloween Terrarium

What if you could capture the essence of Halloween in a jar? Say hello to the Haunted Terrarium, the ultimate spooky-yet-stylish DIY project for Halloween decor. This craft is easy, eerie, and guaranteed to be a conversation starter at your haunted house. Bonus: it’s a lot less messy than carving pumpkins!

Materials Needed:

  • Glass terrarium or mason jar
  • Black sand or pebbles (the creepier, the better)
  • Mini plastic Halloween figures (skeletons, tombstones, bats, etc.)
  • LED tea lights (to add an eerie glow)
  • Moss or faux cobwebs for that extra haunted feel
  • Black glitter (because spooky can still sparkle)

Directions:

  1. Build Your Base: Add a layer of black sand or pebbles to the bottom of your jar. This sets the scene for your haunted landscape.
  2. Place Your Figures: Arrange your miniature Halloween figures—tiny skeletons, bats, and tombstones—within the jar. The spookier the better!
  3. Add Moss and Webs: Drape some moss or faux cobwebs around your figures to make the setting look abandoned and eerie.
  4. Light It Up: Add an LED tea light in the center to create a haunting glow. Black glitter around the edges adds a bit of Halloween magic.
  5. Seal the Spookiness: Once you’re happy with your mini haunted scene, close the lid and place it on display!

This Haunted Terrarium is perfect for adding a creepy, gothic touch to any Halloween celebration. You can even make a few and scatter them around your home as ghostly centerpieces!
