Good morning, wildlife lovers and blog wanderers! Do I see wild animals? Oh, absolutely. Living in rural Western Pennsylvania—proudly nestled in Steeler Country—I’m practically running my own version of National Geographic (minus the high-budget cameras and voiceovers by David Attenborough).
Here in my neck of the woods, the wildlife is a buffet of fur, feathers, and, occasionally, pure attitude. Picture this: majestic deer casually strolling through the yard like they own the place, flocks of wild turkeys auditioning for a Thanksgiving-themed parade, and the ever-mischievous raccoons who are way too comfortable with my trash cans. (Seriously, Greg the Raccoon, we need to talk about boundaries.)
Squirrels? Oh, they’re here in droves, plotting world domination while burying acorns in my flower beds. And let’s not forget the vultures—yep, actual vultures—circling ominously like the neighborhood drama squad. It’s like they know when I burn dinner and are just waiting to make it official.
Birdwatching here is a sport all its own. From delicate songbirds to hawks with “don’t mess with me” energy, my yard is the avian equivalent of a Steeler tailgate party: loud, proud, and highly entertaining. And while the rabbits and groundhogs stay relatively chill, I know they’re secretly mocking my attempts to keep a garden alive.
Wild animals? Oh, honey, they’re my neighbors, my entertainment, and, occasionally, my nemeses. It’s all part of life in rural Western PA—a place where nature’s quirks meet steel town pride. So, come for the wildlife tales and stay for the Steeler love. And if you’ve got a good raccoon deterrent tip, I’m all ears.
Catch you on the wild side! 🦌🐿️🦃
