Woman in Pink Sunglasses Relaxing in a Pool Float Text Overlay Reads these Sunglasses Are Made from Recycled Pill Bottles Yes Really

Some things pile up slowly.

For me, it was prescription pill bottles and supplement containers.
I didn’t notice it at first—just an extra here, a new prescription there. But after years of dealing with my own medical needs, and supporting my husband Derek through his fight with kidney cancer, the reality hit me:

Our home was full of these bright orange reminders of survival.
Most people toss them. Most recycling programs won’t take them.
And before I knew it, they became a symbol of something I couldn’t shake:

All this plastic, all this effort… and no real way to reuse it.

Until now.

Then I Found Cocoplum… and I Felt It

I came across Cocoplum on one of those late-night scrolls where you’re not looking for anything—but something finds you anyway.

Sunglasses.
Made from recycled prescription pill bottles.
Bright. Bold. Chic.
With a mission rooted in purpose, not trend.

Naturally, I went down the rabbit hole (as one does) and landed on a video where the founder actually walks you through how she collects, cleans, and melts down donated bottles to create these gorgeous frames.

It wasn’t just clever—it was personal.

💡 Watch How Cocoplum Turns Pill Bottles Into Sunglasses:

These Aren’t Just Sunglasses—They’re Perspective

In a world where we’re told to hide the hard parts—illness, caregiving, trauma, mess—Cocoplum flips the narrative.
She takes something “useless,” “unwanted,” “discarded”… and transforms it into something vibrant, joyful, and very wearable.

As someone who’s lived in the trenches of medical chaos while still trying to glow-up and build a life full of style and substance, this hit me deeply. Because…

🧡 I do take a lot of pills and supplements.
♻️ I do worry about where all that packaging ends up.
🕶️ And I do want to wear things that reflect my values—resilience, sustainability, empowerment.

These glasses aren’t just cute. They’re a conversation starter, a climate-conscious flex, and for me—a full-circle moment.

And Now, I’m Proud to Be an Official Cocoplum Ambassador

I reached out. I asked questions. I shared our story.
And I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been invited to be an official Cocoplum ambassador.

Let’s Talk About Sustainability That Looks Good

Billions of prescription bottles are thrown away each year.
And while the stats are shocking, I don’t think you need numbers to understand the weight of it. Most of us have stared at a bottle in our hand and wondered where it would go next.

With Cocoplum, the answer is better.
The answer is stylish.
The answer is something you actually want to wear to brunch with your girls.

Sustainability Isn’t a Trend—It’s Personal

This isn’t just about “green living.”
It’s about acknowledging the emotional weight behind the things we throw away—and choosing to rewrite the story.

It’s about beauty with backbone.
Style with substance.
And a brand that proves your past doesn’t define your future—it can literally become the lens you see the world through.

💌 And the best part? They make it ridiculously easy to be part of the movement—just send in your used pill bottles with a free shipping label they provide.

♻️ Want to Send In Your Own Pill Bottles?

Yes, you can—and it literally costs you nothing.

If you’ve got a pile of empties (labels removed), Cocoplum accepts donations and gives them new life.

All you have to do is ask and Cocoplum will send you a free prepaid shipping label so you can recycle your bottles easily, safely, and with zero hassle.

It’s not just about sunglasses. It’s about turning something overlooked into something unforgettable. It’s about a future where what once got thrown away becomes part of your glow-up.

So yes, once they arrive, I’ll be wearing my Cocoplums proudly—because sustainability should be stylish. And because when purpose meets fashion, we all see the world a little more clearly.
