What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Teenage me, let’s talk. You don’t know this yet, but life is about to throw you curveballs, detours, and some wildly unexpected adventures. And guess what? You’re going to handle it all like an absolute powerhouse. But before you strut off into your future in perfectly styled outfits and killer confidence, I have some advice to make the journey a little smoother (and even more fabulous).

1. You’re Not as Awkward as You Think

Let’s start with the obvious—stop overanalyzing every interaction like it’s a Supreme Court case. That embarrassing thing you said? No one remembers it. That one weird hair day? Irrelevant. What will be remembered is your kindness, your confidence, and the way you make people feel. So quit apologizing for existing and start owning your space.

2. That Group You’re Desperate to Fit Into? Forget Them.

You know those people you’re trying so hard to impress? They won’t even be in your life in ten years. Not because of some dramatic fallout, but because life moves forward. The people who matter are the ones who see your quirks as superpowers, not flaws. Find your weird, wonderful people and hold onto them.

3. Take More Risks (And Keep Your Signature Style)

Wear the outfit. Audition for the play. Speak up in class. Take the trip. Say yes to opportunities that scare you. Life is so much bigger than your high school bubble, and I promise you, playing it safe won’t get you far. And keep rocking your signature style—future you will be known for always being put together.

4. Not Everyone Deserves a Front-Row Seat to Your Life

You have a big heart, and you want to believe the best in people. That’s great—but not everyone deserves access to your energy. If someone makes you feel like you’re hard to love, they’re not your people. Walk away. No explanation required.

5. Your Dreams Are Not Too Big

There’s going to be a little voice (sometimes yours, sometimes someone else’s) telling you that your dreams are unrealistic. Laugh in its face. One day, you’re going to be on runways, tour buses, step-and-repeats, and yes, even courtrooms (though not on trial—let’s clarify that). The things that set your soul on fire? They matter. Keep going.

6. The Best Revenge is Glowing Up and Moving On

Oh, you’re going to have heartbreaks, disappointments, and moments where you feel like the world is ending. Here’s the secret: it never actually ends. You get stronger. You get wiser. And you’ll look back one day, sipping your (very expensive but totally worth it) latte, realizing that every setback led you to something better.

7. Invest in Good Shoes

This one’s important. Future you spends a lot of time walking on stages, through airports, into meetings, and onto dance floors. Respect your feet. Cheap stilettos are not worth the pain.

8. You Are Enough

Right now. As you are. Not five pounds from now, not once you achieve X, Y, or Z. You. Are. Enough. And one day, you’re going to look back at old photos and realize how stunning and unstoppable you were—so start believing it now.

So there you have it, teenage me. You’re going to be okay. Actually, scratch that—you’re going to be phenomenal. Here’s the bottom line: You’re doing better than you think. Life will test you, shape you, and ultimately, turn you into someone even more incredible than you can even imagine right now. Keep your head high, your eyeliner sharp, and your heart open—because the best is yet to come.
