This isn’t just a signup guide. It’s the story of a global glow-up.

When I created Voguegenics in 2021, I was broken wide open.

I left an abusive marriage early in the 2000’s with three young children and moved us back into the home I had always known as safe: the house where I grew up, where my mother and grandmother lived. That house became our haven again, but it wasn’t long before caregiving for those I loved consumed me. My grandmother passed, then my father followed a year later. Somewhere in between, I went back to school to finally pursue a career in law. I met Derek. We started dating. I thought maybe, just maybe, I could finally start building something of my own.

Then Derek and I got married, but life was still heavy. I worked days. He worked nights. I was alone more often than not, still trying to hold everything together. Then came the accident. My brain injury changed everything. I struggled to cope but, then came the unraveling. My mother — my rock, my best friend, my partner in everything — passed away. And soon thereafter, I couldn’t work, couldn’t drive, couldn’t keep pushing.

The world got smaller. Quieter. Dimmer.

I rarely left the house unless someone was there to take me. But help was hard to come by. My friends were kind, but distant. They didn’t know what to say. And, neither did I.

So I withdrew. I was done — done with trying to deal with people, done with the world, done trying to explain. I felt deeply, profoundly alone.

Voguegenics was born out of that stillness — part survival, part defiance, and completely fueled by love. At first, it was just a blog. A digital whisper reminding me there was still a world out there. That I was still out there.

Since then, I’ve worked hard to keep reinventing myself. My children are grown. I finally have time to look inward without guilt. I’ve stepped into what I now call my Glow-Up Era — and Voguegenics is the place I pour all of that raw energy, heart, and vision into.

Because I want to be the best person I can be, but you can’t pour from an empty cup. Voguegenics helps me refill mine.

And now? Voguegenics is not just mine anymore.

This little community I’ve built is growing. Stronger. Braver. More beautiful. Voguegenics is read in over 35 countries — from the U.S. and Ireland to Nigeria, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines. People are showing up not for fluff, but for the transformation. Not for trends, but for the truth. We’re adding more resources, more tools, more connection points.

I invite you to be a part of that journey now as Voguegenics enters its next phase — bolder, brighter, and more beautiful than ever – safe place where we can all support each other without judgment and with respect.

Voguegenics isn’t a brand. It’s a rebirth. And if you’re here, maybe you’re ready for yours too.

Join me. Let’s glow up together.

🚀 Final Thoughts

I didn’t build Voguegenics because I had everything figured out. I built it because I didn’t — and I needed a place that made sense of the chaos. A place for healing and humor, sparkle and strength, style and survival.

If you’re tired of feeling like no space really fits… If you want more than motivational quotes and empty trends… If you’ve been waiting for someone to say, “Come sit with us. You can shine here.”

This is that space.

Welcome to Voguegenics. Let your glow begin.

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
