What jobs have you had?

At this point, I’m convinced my resume could double as a Netflix series. Let’s just say, if jobs were accessories, I’ve rocked everything from steel-toed boots to stilettos — sometimes simultaneously.

Before I became the high-functioning, latte-fueled force behind Voguegenics, my career path looked less like a ladder and more like a tightrope strung between chaos and couture.

The Origin Story: Babysitter by Day, Backstage Hustler by Night

I started like many do: babysitting. But not your average “watch cartoons and order pizza” babysitting. No, this was “handle tantrums, make dinner from scratch, and still fold a fitted sheet perfectly” babysitting. Add CPR certification and a detailed knowledge of Blue’s Clues lore, and I basically ran a mini daycare in a miniskirt.

But the moment I could trade pacifiers for power chords? I did. Enter Rockin Ds Entertainment. Yes, my own music management company — birthed from a love of the stage, the hustle, and the dramatic flair only a live show can provide. I managed artists, organized events, and got real cozy with the chaos of tour buses. It was glittery, gritty, and exactly what I needed.

Cue the Courtroom

Believe it or not, I’ve also worn the world’s least glamorous superhero cape: Senior Litigation Paralegal. I swapped red carpets for red tape, fighting battles with briefs instead of basslines. It taught me how to multitask like a caffeinated octopus and argue like a Southern grandma defending her cobbler recipe.

Caregiver, Coach, Creator

Life, in all its wild wisdom, also handed me one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever done — caregiving. Through hospital hallways and late-night medicine schedules, I learned what real strength looks like (spoiler: it usually doesn’t wear makeup).

That compassion, resilience, and relentless drive eventually led me here — to Voguegenics, V’Empower, and everything we’re building. I now wear the title of founder, health coach, writer, and digital ringmaster of a multi-hyphenate life I wouldn’t trade for anything.

From Drama to Downloads

Now, I get to help others glow up — inside and out. Whether it’s supporting my son Zarek in his performance career or designing tools for your own transformation, my work is fueled by soul, sequins, and a surprising amount of spreadsheets.

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
