Daily writing prompt
What is one word that describes you?

If I had to distill everything I am into a single word—one that carries the weight of my experiences, my fire, my relentless refusal to dim—there’s only one that fits:

Unapologetic.

Unapologetic in ambition, in presence, in my unshakable belief that a woman should own every room she walks into—whether that’s a courtroom, a concert venue, or a late-night brainstorming session fueled by a flawless oat milk latte.

I’ve balanced stilettos on tour buses and legal documents in boardrooms. I’ve stood at step-and-repeats drenched in sequins and at hospital bedsides armed with nothing but love and resilience. I have played many roles, but in every chapter, one truth remains: I take up space. And I do it without apology.

I refuse to shrink. I refuse to water myself down. And I refuse to let anyone tell me that I should be anything less than all of it—the fire, the elegance, the grit, the grace.

Because the world remembers those who own their presence—not those who apologize for it.

Now tell me, what’s your word? 🖤✨

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
