People who say “food is just fuel” are clearly not ordering the right thing.
When it comes to choosing a favorite restaurant, I don’t just think about the plate—I think about the feeling. The ambiance. The comfort. The joy of reading a menu like it’s a short novel full of potential lovers. (Don’t judge. We’ve all flirted with a fettuccine once or twice.)
And for our family, the winner is always Soni’s.

Soni’s isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a second home with better lighting and a bread basket that never judges you for asking for a refill. It’s where the food is always divine, and the atmosphere wraps around you like a cashmere throw.
I always go for the Veal Marsala—rich, savory, and so good it might actually be the secret to world peace. My kids are all-in on the Penne alla Vodka, which is somehow both elegant and “shut up and take my fork” delicious. And Derek? Chicken Parmesan. Always. He’s loyal like that—both to me and to a good red sauce.
The servers at Soni’s?
Actual angels in aprons.
They remember names, favorite dishes, and exactly how many minutes to let you sit and sip before coming back for your dessert order. (Which, let’s be clear, you will want to order—because their freshly baked sweets are the kind of thing people write sonnets about.)
And behind the scenes? The chefs are culinary artists in disguise—turning humble ingredients into masterpieces, one heavenly plate at a time.
The lighting? Soft and flattering, like a candlelit compliment.
The vibe? Half European café, half dream sequence.
The food? A love language.
We’ve celebrated birthdays, toasted big wins, and even sat in comfortable silence on hard days, letting the scent of garlic and fresh bread do the emotional heavy lifting. It’s not just about eating—it’s about being. Together. And well-fed.
So yes, Soni’s is our favorite restaurant.
And if you’re ever lucky enough to go—get the veal. Save room for dessert. And tip your angel in an apron.
