Always Learning: The Beauty of Growth in Everyday Life

If there’s one thing I know, it’s that learning never really stops. Whether we’re mastering a new skill, navigating life’s curveballs, or Googling something at 2 AM (admit it, we all do it), knowledge finds its way into our lives when we least expect it.

Most recently, I learned that launching a podcast is about so much more than just talking into a mic and hoping people listen. It’s a strategic mix of content planning, tech wizardry, and algorithm prayers, wrapped in a package of persistence and late-night editing sessions.

But my most unexpected lesson? The emotional power of memory teddy bears. Creating keepsakes from a loved one’s clothing for others taught me that grief and healing can be stitched together—one thread at a time. Holding onto love doesn’t always mean holding onto pain. Sometimes, it means transforming it into something tangible, something that whispers, “I was loved, and I loved in return.”

Embracing Lifelong Learning for Personal Growth

Every day, life gifts us with tiny, teachable moments. Whether through career challenges, personal experiences, or creative projects, we’re constantly evolving. So if you’re wondering, What’s the last thing you learned?—know that the real answer is probably unfolding right now.

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
