There’s something about a cross-country journey that stirs the soul. The thrill of new horizons, unfamiliar roads, and the promise of adventure. But the real question? How do you get there? Plane, train, bus, car, or bike?
For me, the answer isn’t as simple as picking a mode of transportation—it’s a conversation between who I was, who I am, and who I might be again.
The Tour Bus Life: CEO Meets Rockstar
If you’ve followed my journey, you already know I’ve spent enough time managing artists, sitting on tour buses, and rolling into new cities with a backstage pass to life. And let’s be honest—if I’m going cross-country, I want to do it in style.
A luxury tour bus? Now we’re talking. Think plush leather seating, a stocked latte bar, a wardrobe closet that won’t wrinkle my sequins, and Wi-Fi strong enough to keep Voguegenics running from anywhere. I want to wake up in a new city, sip my latte while watching the sunrise over the mountains, and roll into my next destination like a fashion-forward CEO meets rockstar hybrid.
It’s comfortable. It’s practical. It’s me.
But it’s not my only answer.
The Bike: The Ride That Changed Everything
There was a time when my answer would’ve been instant: the bike. No question. No hesitation.
Because when you ride, it’s not just about getting somewhere—it’s about feeling everything. The wind whipping past, the low growl of the engine, the pulse of the road beneath you. It’s the closest thing to freedom you can get on two wheels. And I loved it.
But I haven’t ridden since my accident.
I’m a downed biker, and that’s not something you just shake off. The love for riding is still there, but so is the weight of everything that comes with it. Getting back on a bike isn’t just about skill—it’s about trusting yourself again. Trusting the road. Trusting that the part of you that once craved the ride is still there, waiting.
Now, let’s be real—I’m not the “roughing it” type. A pedal bike? Not unless I suddenly decide I have Tour de France aspirations and who are we kidding? A bus with strangers? Absolutely not, unless it’s a Steel City Spies mission in disguise. A train? Maybe, if it’s got that old-school Orient Express glam. Flying? Only if it’s first class with a proper in-flight skincare routine, but even then, TSA and baggage claim? No thanks.
So if I were choosing today? I’d take the tour bus. But I’d make sure there was a bike strapped to the back—because maybe, just maybe, one day, I’ll be ready to ride again.
The Journey Matters More Than the Ride
Whether it’s a bike, bus, car, or plane, it’s not just about how you get there—it’s about the experience, the memories, the roads you take and the ones you leave behind.
Right now, my road looks different. But that doesn’t mean the ride is over. So, luxury bus it is—rolling into every city like a fashion-forward CEO meets rockstar hybrid, stopping at all the best latte shops, and documenting the entire journey in Voguegenics style.
What about you? If you were going cross-country, how would you get there? Let’s talk about it in the comments. And if you see me out there? Save me a seat—or a ride. 🖤🏍
