Daily writing prompt
What are you passionate about?

What am I passionate about?
Oh, darling — buckle up.

I’m passionate about building things from the ashes. About taking breakdowns and turning them into blog posts, businesses, and better boundaries. About showing up in a world that keeps trying to shrink us down — and responding not with silence, but with sequins, spreadsheets, and a standing ovation for every comeback queen (or king) who refuses to fold.

I’m passionate about self-care that goes way beyond bubble baths. I’m talking about the kind of self-care that starts with saying no, ends with blocked numbers, and includes a glow-up somewhere in between. The latte’s optional — the backbone isn’t.

I’m passionate about being the voice I needed back when I was just surviving. About helping women and caregivers and creatives and misfits and powerhouses realize they’re not too much — they’ve just been trying to fit into spaces that weren’t designed to hold their kind of magic.

I’m passionate about words. The kind that heal. The kind that call things out. The kind that hang in the air like glitter and truth. And yes, I’m passionate about justice — the soft kind that restores and the loud kind that calls out hate when it sees it.

Voguegenics wasn’t just a blog idea. It was a response. To being overlooked. To being stretched thin. To being told to tone it down, take up less space, and wait my turn. My passion is saying, “No thanks. I’ll build my own table. It’ll be gothic. It’ll be gold. And it will seat queens, survivors, misfits, and anyone who brings snacks.”

So, what am I passionate about?

Healing. Creating. Fighting back. Holding space. Being loud. Being soft. Owning my story. And helping others do the same — with fierce grace and unapologetic style.

If your passion feels a little buried under burnout, obligation, or the never-ending to-do list — you’re not alone. Passion isn’t something we’re born with. It’s something we reclaim.

Because passion doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes, it whispers…
“Remember who you were before they told you to be smaller?”

Let’s get you back to that version. Or better yet — the evolved one you’re becoming.

Now you tell me:
What lights you up? What keeps you up at night (in the best way)? What’s your fire?

Drop it below. Let’s start a chain reaction.

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
