Woman Smiling While Working on a Laptop and Holding a Coffee Mug Representing Productivity at Home
Daily writing prompt
When do you feel most productive?

If you’re expecting me to say 5 AM, fresh from a sunrise meditation and green juice, kindly escort yourself to the nearest exit.
My peak productivity window? It’s the magical (and slightly chaotic) intersection of mild panic, caffeine-fueled determination, and the looming threat of a missed deadline.

There’s something about the mid-morning hustle, after the latte has kicked in but before real life realizes I’m awake, that turns me into a machine. Between 10 AM and 1 PM, I’m practically unstoppable. Ideas click, emails get answered, content gets written, and I might even tackle that scary “file taxes” reminder lurking in my inbox. (Might.)

But here’s the twist: productivity isn’t just about timing. It’s about momentum.

The first win of the day — whether it’s finishing a blog post, answering that email I’ve avoided for three days, or finally organizing my desk — creates a domino effect.

One win becomes two. Two become five. Suddenly, I’m not just productive — I’m unstoppable. Like a Beyoncé album drop. Unexpected, fast, and leaving people wondering how I pulled it off.

So when do I feel most productive?

When I stop overthinking it. When I trick myself into starting.

When the perfect latte meets the perfect playlist meets the tiny spark of motivation that says, “Just do the next thing.”

And yes — sometimes that “next thing” is answering today’s daily writing prompt like a champ. 😉
Here’s your reminder: productivity isn’t a mood. It’s a movement.
Start it, and let momentum carry you the rest of the way.

Dorey Duncan Scott Senior Litigation Paralegal
Hi! I’m Dorey Duncan Scott, a mother of three, wife and fashion entrepreneur. I started my career in fashion back in the early 90’s when I did print, still and runway modeling. I studied Fashion Merchandising, Music Business and Marketing, while also obtaining certificates in such industry-necessary areas such as make-up, styling and runway choreography. In addition, I had work as a spokesmodel for several brands, appearing in print and in person. As a former model, turned senior litigation paralegal, artist manager and on-air personality with a passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development, I bring a unique combination of style, strategic thinking, and legal expertise to my work. My years navigating the legal world have sharpened my attention to detail, while my experience and passion for fashion, beauty, and personal development drives my desire to help others feel empowered and help them in their journey toward self-empowerment. My experience in the fashion world has taught me the power of confidence.
