  • 2 cups milk dairy or plant-based, such as almond or oat milk
  • 2 bags black tea or 2 tsp loose leaf black tea
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cardamom pods slightly crushed
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 small piece fresh ginger about 1 inch, sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or maple syrup for vegan option (adjust to taste)
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions
 

Simmer the Spices

  • In a small saucepan, combine milk, cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, and sliced ginger.
  • Heat over medium-low heat until the milk starts to steam, but DO NOT let it boil.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes to allow the spices to infuse.

Brew the Tea

  • Add the black tea bags or loose tea to the milk mixture.
  • Simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes, depending on your desired tea strength.

Sweeten and Strain

  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup.
  • Strain the mixture into mugs to remove the spices and tea bags.

Serve and Garnish

  • Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
  • Serve warm.
  • Pair with your favorite cozy activity or quiet reflection time.
