This fun, spiced twist on classic hot chocolate is the perfect treat for a cozy journaling session or to sip after a brisk winter walk. It’s indulgent yet easy to make—and guaranteed to make winter days feel a little brighter.

  • 2 cup Milk (or plant-based alternative like almond or oat milk)
  • 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar (or sweetener of choice)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows  (optional, but highly encouraged!)

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne pepper.
  • Slowly add the milk, whisking constantly to combine.
  • Heat over medium heat until the mixture is hot but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream or marshmallows for an indulgent finish.

Notes
