Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done.

You know that one thing on your to-do list that never gets done? The one that just sits there, silently mocking you every time you glance at it? For me, it’s sorting out my closet—specifically, getting rid of all the clothes that no longer fit since I lost weight.

Now, in theory, this should be a celebratory purge. A farewell tour of the wardrobe that once held me hostage with tight waistbands and buttons that required sheer willpower to close. But somehow, every time I attempt it, I end up spiraling into a dramatic episode of Closet Hoarders: Sentimental Edition.

The mental gymnastics go something like this:

  • This blazer is three sizes too big, but what if I belt it? (No, Dorey, you’ll look like a deflated airbag.)
  • These jeans are falling off me, but I could repurpose them into shorts! (You won’t. And we both know that.)
  • This dress doesn’t fit at all, but what if I gain weight again? (Excuse me, who invited that negativity?)

So, instead of making progress, I end up sitting on the floor, clutching an old sequined jumpsuit like it’s a long-lost friend, while trying to justify keeping a sweater that hasn’t been worn since Gossip Girl was on air. Naturally, I conclude this process by closing the closet doors, declaring “I’ll do it next weekend”, and moving the task to next week’s to-do list.

Where it will remain. Forever.

Tell me I’m not alone in this. What’s the one thing on your to-do list that you keep rescheduling like an awkward dentist appointment?
